WAAEYC Mission Statement

The Worcester Area Association for the Education of Young Children (WAAEYC), a chapter of the National Association for the Education of oung Children (NAEYC), exists to support community and early care and education professionals in promoting high quality developmentally appropriate experiences for all young children by offering educational, advocacy, and collaborative opportunities to those who seek to improve the lives of young children, their families, and the community at large.

 

WAAEYC Will Provide Accreditation Mentors

WAAEYC is currently developing a mentor program for child care programs going through the accreditation or re-accreditation process. Directors of programs that have recently completed the process have been asked if they are willing to serve as a mentor for one or two programs who are working on NAEYC accreditation.

WAAEYC Recognizes Accredited Centers

WAAEYC ‘s Annual Meeting was held April 15, 2009 in the Gordon Hall at First Baptist Church, Park Ave., Worcester. Attendees enjoyed a hilarious keynote address from the well-known motivational speaker Norm Bossio. Dinner was provided by Oliva’s Catering from Milford.
